We build the future of marine systems, and invite you to be part of the journey.

We’re seeking engineers and technical specialists who want to design, build, and validate next-generation maritime power and propulsion systems.

  • We are seeking a Marine Power Systems Engineer to join ASG’s core integration team and contribute to next-generation hybrid, autonomous, and electric vessel systems. You will have the opportunity to work on fully integrated propulsion, energy storage, and microgrid architectures, influencing critical U.S. maritime programs. This role will be based in Newport News, VA, with occasional collaboration across our Seattle, Portland, and Montgomery facilities. Candidates should be able to start in March–April 2026.

Our alumni have led successful integrations on 150+ vessels and continue to shape U.S. naval and commercial marine programs.

    You Will

▪︎  Design, simulate, and integrate distributed microgrid and propulsion architectures
▪︎  Support PHIL/HIL testing in ASG’s 22,000 ft² MEPS lab
▪︎  Analyze performance, endurance, and fault recovery metrics
▪︎  Collaborate with naval architects, software engineers, and automation specialists

You May Be a Good Fit If You Have

▪︎  B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Marine Engineering, or related field
▪︎  Experience with power electronics, DC/AC microgrids, or propulsion systems
▪︎  Detail-oriented and disciplined in documentation and test execution
▪︎  Strong teamwork skills in small, highly technical, cross-functional teams

    Bonus Points For

▪︎  Experience with PM motors, SiC converters, or AEMS-like energy management systems
▪︎  Prior shipboard integration or naval architecture exposure
▪︎  MATLAB/Simulink or similar modeling and simulation proficiency
