History - A Legacy Of Results
Throughout the past seven decades, one thing has remained the same at Danos: our unfaltering commitment to values, safety and overall results for our clients.

Founding Era
1947 – 1959
Humble Beginnings
Danos was founded in 1947 by Allen Danos Sr. and Syriaque Curole with a small tugboat business. They kept overhead low and conducted operations from the kitchen table while their wives managed the books. The company focused on providing jobs for the local community and quickly secured its first customers, including Gulf Oil. By the late 1950s, they had expanded their fleet with crew boats and began offering labor services, setting the stage for steady growth.

Growth Era
1960–1969
Expanding Services
Throughout the 1960s, Danos steadily grew its business, adding new clients like Tenneco Oil and expanding its offerings to include coatings and shorebase labor. The company focused on operational efficiency and delivering high-quality service, building a solid foundation for long-term growth. These years also saw investment in employee development and establishing reliable processes that would shape the company’s culture for decades to come.

Expansion Era
1970–1979
Leading Safety
Under the leadership of Allen Jr. and Hank Danos, the company expanded its customer base to include Shell, LOOP, and Exxon. New service lines in construction and fabrication were added, and the first self-elevating lift boat was built. Importantly, this era marked the start of a strong workplace safety culture, with dedicated safety personnel, formal training programs, and early tracking of safety metrics to ensure employee wellbeing on every project.

Modernization
1980–1999
International Growth
Danos entered international markets in the 1990s, deploying liftboats to West Africa and sending production operators to Asia. The company expanded its shorebase operations and modernized project management, fabrication, and construction services. These decades emphasized efficiency, technical expertise, and responsiveness to customer needs, establishing Danos as a trusted global partner in energy and industrial services.

Recent Era
2000–2026
Third Generation Leadership
The third generation of the Danos family joined the company, bringing years of domestic and international industry experience. In 2012, the company rebranded as Danos, expanded into North American shale plays, and added capabilities such as scaffolding, environmental services, instrumentation, and large-scale fabrication. Today, Danos is a global, purpose-driven enterprise with over 3,700 employees, committed to safety, operational excellence, and making a positive impact in the communities it serves.
