Danos Deepwater Operator Alex Triplett was recently recognized by Danos customer Shell for consistently demonstrating exceptional value through his safety-first mindset, technical skills and strong work ethic. Over several rotations on Appomattox, Alex has identified and addressed potential safety hazards such as:
Detecting a pinhole in Vapor Recovery Unit (VRU) piping and securing a loosened brace on a Petroleum Asset Excellence (PAX) pump, preventing major incidents.
Identified an open chemical valve that was causing high O2 readings in the waterflood system, avoiding a shutdown and costly chemical use.
Assisted with surface-controlled subsurface safety valves (SCSSV) soaks, freeing up control room operators for other tasks.
Discovered an open sample sink valve, fixed an e-sump sheen issue, and repaired the FSV of 4050 with a Lock Out, Tag Out (LOTO) design which has been crucial in maintaining Appomattox’s operations.
