Commitment to Safety and Operational Integrity at Appomattox

Danos Deepwater Operator Alex Triplett was recently recognized by Danos customer Shell for consistently demonstrating exceptional value through his safety-first mindset, technical skills and strong work ethic. Over several rotations on Appomattox, Alex has identified and addressed potential safety hazards such as:

  1. Detecting a pinhole in Vapor Recovery Unit (VRU) piping and securing a loosened brace on a Petroleum Asset Excellence (PAX) pump, preventing major incidents.

  2. Identified an open chemical valve that was causing high O2 readings in the waterflood system, avoiding a shutdown and costly chemical use.

  3. Assisted with surface-controlled subsurface safety valves (SCSSV) soaks, freeing up control room operators for other tasks.

  4. Discovered an open sample sink valve, fixed an e-sump sheen issue, and repaired the FSV of 4050 with a Lock Out, Tag Out (LOTO) design which has been crucial in maintaining Appomattox’s operations.

His reliability and dedication consistently exceed expectations. Way to go, Alex! Thank you for always being on the look out and for all that you do.
