Strategic Initiatives

Danos is pleased to announce several leadership changes within our land production services and coastal restoration teams. These changes reflect our continued growth and expansion across key shale regions, including the Permian, Eagle Ford, Rockies, North Louisiana and Mississippi, and position us to strengthen regional support while continuing to deliver operational excellence for our customers.

CEO Paul Danos has said he wants Danos to be a “development machine.” One meaningful way that vision comes to life is through acquisitions, which continue to create new pathways for employee growth across the organization.

This year, the Danos commercial team is implementing a comprehensive development plan to strengthen key behavioral competencies that impact how we serve both internal and external customers. Focus areas include proposal writing, financial literacy, analysis, communication, data structure, presentation skills, problem solving and industry knowledge.

Congratulations to Natural Gas Mechanic Tory Turner who is the 2024 Drive for Safety grand prize winner. Tory was one of the 34 finalist who was entered into the drawing.

Here at Danos, we like to solve BIG challenges. Recently, Danos Safety Specialist Mathew Bascle was asked to join the Center of Offshore Safety (COS) committee, which is a part of the American Petroleum Institute (API). When asked about his plans on the committee, he responded with the below:

Danos Operations Manager Melanie Hill will now sit on the Board of Directors for Louisiana Oil and Gas Association (LOGA).

Each year, we renew our commitment to our people and the growth of our company through strategic priority initiatives. This year we focused on three, “Set the Standard,” “Employee Experience,” and “Transformational Growth.” A sub strategy that surfaced during strategy discussions is Competency Development.

The Gulf of Mexico (GOM) shallow water decommissioning work has kept Danos busy in 2022. Currently, there are over 1700 structures in the shallow water gulf with most of those older fields in production declining.

Congratulations to Sonny Orgeron on his promotion to Director of Information Systems and Security. Sonny started with Danos in 1998 as a Telecom Engineer providing service to employees over land and water.

Some days the changes within our industry feel nothing short of revolution. But when we step back and look at what’s happening with a sense of perspective, the story is really one of evolution that has been going on for as long as Danos has been a company.

In order to maintain alignment, Danos hosts quarterly Town Hall events. This quarter, the Town Hall was held in Andrews, Texas, following our Permian Safety Focus. CEO Paul Danos spoke to an audience of nearly 70, and the event was streamed via Microsoft Teams.

We have covered much ground throughout the year reviewing our different processes and applications to determine the best path forward for each of the following projects in Flawless Project Execution:

In conjunction with Monday’s Houma Safety Focus event, Danos field leaders from the Gulf of Mexico met this week for a Field Leadership Summit. The summit kicked off Monday night with a welcome dinner and was followed by a day of leadership development on Tuesday.

About a year ago, Danos embarked on a journey with Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) to improve how Danos moves key information to and from our people throughout the employee lifecycle. With the goal of winning and keeping work in mind, HCM continues to assist with the process of hiring the right people, managing our workforce effectively and optimizing productivity.

In the coming months we will assess our current ERP systems, processes, and the way we manage data with a focus on business requirements, how we are satisfying those requirements and identifying areas of improvement.

We are in the people business. We find and deploy people to our customers. Our sales team is doing a great job winning work, and our operations teams are doing a great job keeping work by executing with excellence. The result? Customers are awarding us more work.

Earlier this spring, Danos partnered with Natrx for The Girls Design for Good Challenge hosted at Fletcher Technical Community College. The event was a free girls-only engineering design challenge supported by the Million Women Mentors of Louisiana and LaSTEM. The goal of the day’s activities was to make STEM exciting and relevant to motivate girls to pursue high-demand, high-wage STEM careers.

We introduced flawless project execution into our strategy this year as we seek to understand and meet our customer's execution expectations.

Metrics. What is the deal with metrics? This term is thrown around in our operational landscape, but what are “metrics?” The definition of business metrics is “quantifiable measures used to track business processes to judge the performance level of your business.”
