Danos Challenge Coins

Challenge coins likely originated in the Roman Empire. A leader sometimes presented a special coin to soldiers to signify outstanding achievement. These coins were different than the ones used to pay wages because they featured the marks of the legion. Even though the special coin could be spent like regular money, it was often kept as a memento because of its significance.
Kings and leaders across the world later followed the challenge coin tradition. In more recent history, the U.S. military, U.S. Congress and other organizations have adopted the tradition. In 2024 Danos minted its first ever challenge coins. Our coin shows the Danos company logo and the date of founding on one side. The second side is reserved to personalize the coin for a specific occasion or event. The first Danos coins were issued earlier this year to Issac Dantin and Cody Faul, Staff and Field Employee of the year winners. The owners presented each of these men with their coin during an awards ceremony that celebrated all our finalists but ultimately named Issac and Cody as winners.
We look forward to issuing additional challenge coins for exceptional employee achievements in the coming years.
