Foundation Committee Welcomes New Member

The Danos Foundation Committee welcomes Amber Bourgeois as the new Danos GIVES Chair! Amber will begin her new role on March 1. We are excited to have her continue on the wonderful work of her predecessor as she continues to partner with nonprofit organizations through our grants program.

Here's some fun facts about Amber.

Hometown/Current Residence:  Houma, LA

Family: Three children: Isabella, Liam and Willow.

Education: Graduated from H.L. Bourgeois in 2006. Attended University of Louisiana at Lafayette then transferred to Nicholls State University where I studied Biology.

Years with Danos: 5 years

Activities/involvement outside of Danos/Foundation:  As a family, we like to spend a lot of time together either at our family hunting camp during the winter or fishing camp during the summer.

Why did you choose to get involved with the Foundation: I have always found myself drawn to organizations that allowed me to give back to the community. I love helping others. A few years ago a local orphanage I was involved with for many years closed down. That left me wanting to find other ways I could give back to others but did not know how. With the Foundation, I was able to do so; however, I felt like I wanted to do more. When the opportunity arose for me to become a member of the Foundation, I knew it was a sign that I was looking for to help fulfill something inside of me. It has allowed me to become more involved with giving back to others and has allowed me to bring my family along in the process which I think is very special.
